Why I Am Seemingly Always on my Computer (aka, an Ode to Final Draft)

I write for television. Mostly narrative, often character-driven, usually funny on purpose and sometimes by accident.

I’m drawn to stories about ambition, power, and people trying very hard not to say the quiet part out loud. Whether it’s for a narrative dramedy, sitcom, or sketch, I am absoltuely bound to have way too many tabs open.

Let Not Poor Nelly Starve

Hour-Long Pilot by Yours Truly

A period dramedy about Nell Gwyn, who pulled off a truly audacious Cinderella story, going from Covent Garden courtesan to London’s first celebrity actress and the King’s favorite mistress (he had a lot).

She did all of this while being very funny and very publicly scandalous. Apparently, the 1660s were an excellent time to be hot and talented.

Currently hosted on The Black List, where it’s available to read.

Comedy Writing & Late Night

I could never replace Carol Burnett. I can’t sing. Besides, Lindsey Polevoy doesn’t quite have the same ring to it.

I studied sketch and joke writing for late night at Boston University, including developing a full late-night packet (monologue jokes, desk pieces, and sketches). Samples are available upon request.

And yes, that includes the Broadway-style song I wrote about my love for eating cold Rotisserie Chicken straight from the fridge at 3am.

Stand-Up, Improv, and Additional Projects

I also have experience in stand-up and improv (shout-out UCB 101), which deeply informs my writing and means I’m pretty good at taking the L when something isn’t working.

I also have other pilots and projects either in development or living peacefully in the filing cabinet, and I’m happy to discuss them upon request.
